I will have to admit, I really did enjoy the hard work in research and writing.
Advice? Start early and do it every day....... Now, I did try to work on this paper about every other day, but sometimes it didn't work that easy. I do do better at crunch time. But, again, advice?? Pick a topic that you're familiar with. It's a little easier to come up with that "dreaded thesis statement".
More advice..... go to your local library. I found tremendous resources that can be checked out, reference books that can't be checked out, and tons of informative knowledge on my topic. I really like the Kaplan Library, but I guess I'm old-fashion. Give me that hard cover book that I can hold. Nothing printed out from online.
I hope everyone has a successful career in their chosen path and don't forget to stop and smell the flowers. Live is too short.

Unit 9 - Reflections??
Well, this COULD be reflections, right?? After all, what did we just accomplish? How do we feel about our paper? What was the best/worst criticism that we were able to "accept"? :-) So, we are now in REFLECTION........ I think this is the best part as we can finally take a deep breath and know that we gave it our best shot and put our best foot forward to get this done. It's all in the hands of Professor Barb now. I feel that I've done a good job so far, but with so many set backs that's been going on in my life, I've fallen behind. So, what do I do?? Reflect. What can I do to move this along? How many hours do I have to stay up to finish it? Will it be as good as it should be? Those are my reflections, my feelings. Yes, all the criticism and help during the DB helped a lot. Here I go again.... Reflect. Thanks to my fellow classmates, I was able to bring more ideas to my paper, and more questions (which are good). So, in the end, what is there. (beside that big A in the sky)....... Reflection......on a job well done.
Heck, we all got A's in my world. Good night and sleep tight!!

Unit 8 - Do I really want to keep this going???
Sure, why not. It's like my personal diary (if I don't share it with anyone else). Ha Ha. Like's that's gonna happen.I really enjoy just jotting down the first thing that comes into mind. Then I can see how I feel the next day. I only started facebook because my one friend (who can't figure out this kind of stuff) actually signed in and wanted me to be one of many friends. I was rather honored. :o) Now, it's like an open book for everyone to read my personal thoughts. But, this way, I can keep up to date with the family who live out of state. (not always a good thing as they are kids in their 20's and 30's). Maybe some things should always be kept quiet, you know. (lol)
I also enjoyed the few comments I got on my draft. I wasn't surprised as I really didn't finish it to the best of my potential. But, that is my own fault. So, thank you class and Barb for giving me some rude awakenings to my paper. Gonna get it done the right way and hopefully become a little more smarter on how to get things done for my brother, who has CP and is going strong at the age of 56. "Yes, Mom and Dad, I will take care of Dennis"
Again, thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you soon!

Unit 7 - Peer Reviews
Peer Reviews... to review or not to review... that is the question. Yes, it is a very good concept as who better to give you unbiased criticism than your friends and fellow classmates. I have been pretty good with accepting this and being able to understand where they see change would be good. If you look at something too long, you lose sight of the original path.
I have also had several "ah ha" moments during this research process. Things I didn't know about the disease I have chosen and how to dig further until you find what you really want to say. I "thank you" Barb, for that. Researching from the references supplied from the first article is just what the doctor ordered. I just may have a finished draft by Monday. You Go Girl!!
At the age of 52, nothing shocks me. It may stop me in my tracks for a second or two, but shock, no way. Life is intriguing and so is reading. I love to go to the library and just wander in the non-fiction, not looking for anything in particular. Yes, I know, sounds like a sad life. Or just weird. But it's like ME TIME. No dogs, no responsibilities, other than being very quiet. That's a hard one for me.
Well, actually, I'm getting a little tired now. Got a full week at my day job. Need to have a clear mind. And lot's of coffee.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by. See you soon!

Unit 6 - What have I been feeling for the past 6 weeks
That's a good question. How about "why did you choose CP as your topic." I am passionate about it, but there has been little to document due to the nature of it. Once you are diagnosed, it doesn't get worse. So, I just may need to re-think it. I'll stay in the Neurological area, but come up with a new thesis.
Also, not to fond of having to write 2 papers that are due in the same week. Just killing me here. OK. I'm done venting.
Hope everyone had a nice holiday!

Outline Draft - Unit 6
Well, guess I didn't post on Friday, like I thought I would. It's been a rough few days. My girlfriend's nephew decided to commit suicide on Thursday. Guess he thought 21 years on Earth was enough. The service was today, so that is when I started to think about life and my paper. Not sure why about my paper, but it did get me thinking. Life is too short to sweat the little things. Make something of your life while God has you on this great land we call home. If you don't see what you are looking for, then dig deeper.
Because it's out there, waiting for you!

done w/bathroom101. let's move on to Comp II paper
Just have finishing touches in the bathroom. So I can finally move on. :p) After seminar, it really got my mind running (hopefully, not away). Just what ARE my 3 points about Cerebral Palsy. So, I came up with: 1. Define CP 2. Types of CP 3. Known causes of CP (which actually could be tied in with #2). So, now I need a point #4 to be #3. I was thinking of Treatment or Therapy. And I really want to have another paragraph with Living and Growing Old with CP. The points will include the treatments for the family members also as they will be dealing with this disease along with the patient. This will be quite a project for all of us and I really can't wait to ready everyone's outline. I also want some major feedback on my. Well, the brain is starting to shut down. I have tomorrow off, so you just may see my outline up by the evening. Thanks for reading! Kathy
